Chocolate Chip Cookie Geography
Make an edible 3D map from cookie dough. You get to eat your project when you're done!
Using your favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe, leave out the chocolate chips. Roll out cookie dough on a sheet of wax paper in a rectangular shape to fit in a cookie sheet. (Hint: waxed paper on top will help keep the rolling pin from sticking to dough) Cut the edges of the rolled dough to form the shape of the United States. Top with chopped walnuts along the Rocky Mountains and Appalachians. Press gently into dough. With the wrong side of a table knife, gently make an indention mark, outlining the boundaries of each state. Place a chocolate chip at the correct location of each state capital. Bake.
Option: Use sugar cookie recipe and sprinkle colored toppings on USA to match physical features.
